Barcelona: Sergi Roberto thought he had dreamt scoring the match-winning goal, which sealed one of the most remarkable Champions League comebacks.
Barcelona wrote themselves into the record books with a stunning recovery against PSG on Wednesday night. “When I woke up, I wasn’t sure if it hadn’t all been a dream. I didn’t see a thing until the ball went in. I could see that (Gerard) Pique hadn’t reached it and I threw everything at it. It went in and we all went crazy,” Roberto explained.
“We could feel that the Camp Nou buzzing. I simply have no words to explain how it felt,” Roberto said.
“I had always dreamed of scoring a goal like that and being a lad from La Masia made it all the more special.
“It’s incredible to do like this for my club. We gave it everything. Our attitude was spectacular. It’s a night that will always be remembered,” Roberto added.
PSG fans threaten players and their families
Paris: PSG players and their families were threatened by angry fans on their return to the French capital following their 6-1 Champions League defeat in Barcelona. The club said players were insulted and had their cars vandalised as supporters waiting to confront the team at Bourget Airport created an “extremely hostile and aggressive climate”.
PSG said one person was struck by a car during the incident, which is now the subject of an police investigation. The Ligue 1 side said it strongly condemned the behaviour of the supporters involved, who were incensed that Unai Emery’s team had blown a 4-0 first-leg lead to crash out of Europe.
