It was an up-and-down kind of afternoon for Toronto FC, as it drew 2-2 with the Philadelphia Union at Talen Energy Stadium on Saturday.

Jozy Altidore scored from the penalty spot before halftime and Justin Morrow added the second for TFC. Jay Simpson and C.J. Sapong were on the scoresheet for the Union.

Simpson opened the scoring after just 10 minutes via a diving header in the box to give Philadelphia the lead. The Union had a chance to double their advantage after Nick Hagglund conceded a penalty, but Alejandro Bedoya smacked the crossbar on the ensuing attempt.

The match went from bad to worse for Toronto after Giovinco was forced to leave the game with a leg injury. The Italian was on the receiving end of a rough challenge by Union defender Oguchi Onyewu and could barely put any weight on his right leg.

TFC won a penalty of their own shortly after Giovinco exited the field, which Altidore converted. Morrow gave Toronto a short-lived lead before Sapong responded just two minutes later.

The Reds have drawn their opening two games, and will face the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place on March 18 as they search for their first victory of the year.
