Calgary Flames rookie forward Matthew Tkachuk will have a hearing for elbowing Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty.
The incident occurred in the first period of Calgary’s 5-2 victory over Los Angeles on Sunday. No penalty was assessed on the play and Doughty was able to return to the game after temporarily leaving the ice.
Tkachuk has flirted with the line of dangerous play before, but escaped supplemental discipline from the league.
